Photography is the first art form that I really got into, and currently it's the one being explored the least.

· Drawing Expand
Drawing is the most recent interest I've had, and it mostly reflects my love of cats.

· Video Expand
Video is a medium I wish to explore more, and hopefully this section will grow with time.

Tamas
I was born on September 29th, 1985 in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. My family decided to leave the Communist country in 1989, and eventually ended up in Victoria BC, Canada by the time I was 5. We lived in Victoria until 1992 when we decided to move to Vancouver BC, Canada. Thanks to my parents, I have always had a very diverse taste in music, even at a young age, and this love of all things musical grew as I got older. My love of Photography began in Highschool when I took a Photography course with a teacher who understood that art needs to be encouraged, and needs to be explored instead of dictated. I had always wanted to create music for myself, and I began exploring rhythmical sound around the Autumn of 2004. I let myself explore musical interpretation at a natural pace, and eventually began to create melodic pieces a year later in 2005. In 2006 I worked on an ambitious project to create an album that reflected my views on things that gave me strong emotional responses. I was pretty happy with the result, and since then I have been working on creating live sets of electronic music. 2007 is now upon us, and this year I have begun to enter the world of classical composition more seriously, with my first non-improv composed piano piece, and also my first orchestral piece. Who knows what the future will hold!

Hardware for Photography:
Photography is pretty versatile, even in the digital world. For a long time I only had my small 4 Megapixel Canon camera for photography, and while it was excellent for what I needed it for at the time, I quickly out grew it's capabilities. Before I bought the Digital SLR I needed something else in Photography to explore, and I figured Infrared Light was an interesting place to start. Modifying a digital camera to do infrared photography involves removing a small infrared filter between the lens and CCD (digital "film"), and replacing it with a clear piece of glass or plastic that's the same width as the infrared filter (to keep everything in focus). To block out regular light, you need to get an Infrared filter, which doesn't come in very small sizes, thus the huge filter infront of the miniature camera.

Samsung Digimax 202 (2 Megapixels, modified to do Infrared Photography [Picture])
Canon Powershot S410 (4 Megapixels, this camera died, RIP)
Canon Powershot SD790 IS (10 Megapixels)
Canon Digital Rebel XT (8 Megapixels, SLR, yayy!)

Software for Photography:
Photoshop 5 (the only thing you need, really)

Hardware for Music:
The main idea behind having a laptop for music is two fold. One, I like to be able to take my "studio" with me anywhere... The controller, and keyboard both fit into my (pretty large) bag that I can take anywhere in the city. When I want to record someone else, instead of bringing them to my house I can simply go to wherever they want to record, which makes things a lot easier. The second reason for having a laptop, is for live shows. Laptop music has been around for a few years now, so it'll be interesting to be involved in something that hasn't been around for that long. Also, the Palm Pilot goes into the whole "portable studio" idea as well, I use Sequencing Software on the Palm Pilot to create melodies, and even entire songs if I want to.

Laptop
Palm Tungsten T5 with a 1GB SD card for space (out of commission)
Korg MS2000B (4 voice polyphony analog modeling synthesizer)
Kurzweil K2000 (a pretty good sampling synth for Piano, etc)
Alesis Micron (8 voice polyphony analog modeling synthesizer)

Software for Music:
Ableton Live (live music)
Reaktor 5 (virtual instruments, live music)
Cool Edit Pro (multi-track recording software)
Bhajis Loops (Palm OS sequencer)
Microbe (Palm OS live music)

And some pointless random stuff that no one should be interested in:
Favourite Instrument: Pipe Organ (Grand Piano in a close second)
Favourite Composer: Mozart and Bartok tied
Recommended Pieces: Solo Piano Pieces by Mozart, Bartok's Miraculous Mandarin, Bach's Organ Pieces, Erik Satie's Piano Pieces.
Favourite Painter: Salvador Dali
