I've been exploring the world of electronic music since late 2004, and I started Terrestrial Council in early 2005. To me the musical process, like any other artistic process, will have a certain sort of evolution that's similiar to an expedition to an unknown land. This fascinates me a lot, and so I continue to refine the sort of style and emotion that interests me in the musical world. I think what seperates electronic music (and classical) from most other styles of music, is the ability to have a high range of polyphony without loss of sound quality. In an orchestra each instrument is designed to occupy a small range of the frequency spectrum, allowing a clearer sound to come through with all of the complexities still intact. Electronic music allows for the same sort of control, where a synthesizer can be programmed for similiar tasks. In the future, humanity may even have the ability to connect audio devices directly to the brain, allowing us to "hear" an even higher range of the frequency spectrum. This advance will make electronic music ever more present in society and hopefully the direction it goes in is being directly influenced by classical music.
